Microsoft Architecture Strategy Team: LitwareHR - Software as a Service sample application
Southworks-Glafon helps the Architecture Strategy Team (led by
Gianpaolo Carraro and Fred Chong)
build a sample Software-as-a-Service application, using Windows Communication Foundation,
Workflow Foundation, and SQL Server 2005, that showcases how to achieve multi-tenancy
and configurability using Microsoft technologies.
LitwareHR is a fictitious HR application that provides recruitment management software
delivered as a service. The most remarkable aspects are not what the application
does but rather how it is implemented.
LitwareHR is implemented as a Single Instance Multi Tenant Application, which
means that all LitwareHR customers (or tenants) share the same instance of the application,
including a single database. How to be multi-tenant efficient and how to allow tenant-specific
customization in a single instance environment were the key achievements of LitwareHR.
